1778: 18 George 3 c.62: Continuing the Hulks Act

1778: 18 George 3 c.62: An act to continue an act, made in the sixteenth year of his present Majesty, intituled An act to authorise, for a limited time, the punishment, by hard labour, of offenders who, for certain crimes, are or shall become liable to be transported to any of his majesty’s colonies and plantations.

[Preamble.]

WHEREAS an act of parliament was made in the sixteenth year of the reign of his present Majesty, intituled,

An act to authorise, for a limited time, the punishment, by hard labour, of offenders who, for certain crimes, are or shall become liable to be transported to any of his majesty’s colonies and plantations: and whereas the said act is near expiring; be it therefore enacted by the king’s most excellent majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the lords spiritual and temporal, and commons, in this present parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same,

[and further continued till June 1, 1 1779.]

That the said act shall be, and is hereby continued from the expiration thereof, until the first day of June, one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine.
