{"id":4044,"date":"2025-04-15T09:32:58","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T09:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/statutes.org.uk\/site\/?page_id=4044"},"modified":"2025-04-15T09:32:58","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T09:32:58","slug":"1800-41-george-3-g-b-c-23","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/statutes.org.uk\/site\/the-statutes\/nineteenth-century\/1800-41-george-3-great-britain\/public\/1800-41-george-3-g-b-c-23\/","title":{"rendered":"1800: 41 George 3 (G.B.) c.23: Port of Amsterdam a Free Port"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>1800: 41 George 3 (G.B.) c.23: An Act for making the Port of Amsterdam in the Island of Cura\u00e7ao a Free Port.<\/h3>\n<p>[31st December 1800.]<\/p>\n<p>[27 Geo. 3. c. 27. 30 Geo. 3. c. 29. 31 Geo. 3. c. 38. 32 Geo. 3. c.37. 33 Geo. 3. c. 50, and 38 Geo. 3. c. 39.]<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;WHEREAS by several Acts made in the twenty-seventh, thirtieth, thirty-first, thirty-second, thirty-third, and thirty-eighth Years of the Reign of his present Majesty, it is provided that Wool, Cotton Wool, Indigo, Cochineal, Drugs of all Sorts, Cocoa, Tobacco, Logwood, Fustic, and all Sorts of Wood for Dyers Use, Hides, Skins, and Tallow, Beaver and all Sorts of Furs, Tortoise Shell, Hardwood, or Mill Timber, Mahogany, and all other Goods for Cabinet Ware, Horses, Asses, Mules, and Cattle, being the Growth and Production of any of the Colonies or Plantations in America, belonging to or under the Dominion of any Foreign European Sovereign or State, and all Coin and Bullion, Diamonds, or precious Stones, may be imported from any of the said Colonies or Plantations into the several Ports of Kingston, Savannah la Mar, Montego Bay, Santa Lucea, and Antonio, in the Island of Jamaica, the Port of Saint George in the Island of Grenada, the Port of Roseau in the Island of Dominica, the Port of Nassau in the Island of New Providence one of the Bahama Islands, and the Port of Saint John&#8217;s in the Island of Antigua, in any Foreign Sloop, Schooner, or other Vessel whatever, not having more than one Deck, and owned and navigated in the Manner therein prescribed, and, together with other Goods and Commodities mentioned in the said Acts, may be exported from thence under certain Regulations and Restrictions: And whereas it is expedient to permit the Goods and Commodities herein-before enumerated, to be in like Manner imported into the Port of Amsterdam in the Island of Cura\u00e7ao, and, together with such other Goods and Commodities, to be in like Manner exported from thence;&#8217; be it therefore enacted by the King\u2019s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same,<\/p>\n<p>[The Goods herein enumerated may be imported into the Port of Amsterdam in Cura\u00e7ao and may be exported from thence, with any of the Goods mentioned in the recited Acts.]<\/p>\n<p>That, from and after the passing of this Act, all the Goods and Commodities herein-before enumerated and described, shall and may be imported into the Port of Amsterdam in the Island of Cura\u00e7ao in the like Foreign Ships and Vessels, and, together with such other Goods and Commodities mentioned in the said Acts or any of them, be exported from thence to such Part of his Majesty&#8217;s Dominions to which the Exportation of the same is permitted by any of the said Acts, under the same Rules, Regulations, and Restrictions, and subject to the like Penalties and Forfeitures for Breach thereof, to be recovered and applied in the Manner in the said Acts or any of them mentioned and contained.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/ruffhead-statutes-at-large-v-18-google\/page\/583\/mode\/2up\">Ruffhead, Statutes at Large, volume 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1800: 41 George 3 (G.B.) c.23: An Act for making the Port of Amsterdam in the Island of Cura\u00e7ao a Free Port.
