Chronological

This page lists volumes of statutes in chronological order, from the Act of Union between England and Scotland, up to the latest volume freely available on Google Books, that for 1955. The volumes linked are from a variety of series, and hosted either on Google Books, Internet Archive, or for a few volumes from the 1920s and 1930s, Wikicommons. For pre-Union English statutes, the standard edition is that of ‘The Statutes of the Realm‘, which continues up to the end of Anne’s reign.

Great, thanks very much. Links to vols. 2 & 3 added, and I’ve put in a request for vol. 1 too. I hope multiple requests will get them to do the right thing.

They seem to do it pretty quickly, though annoyingly they don’t actually tell you once they have!

I had put a request in for a different copy of volume 1, but now I’ve had a look it’s missing about half the book, so no point putting it on here.

When I’ve asked for books, they’ve emailed me to say they are available, although there’s generally some delay between release and confirmation.

I’ve also got Google to release some volumes of Acts for the Parliament of Northern Ireland, which contain both Public General as well as Local and Private Acts. Note that the regnal citations are occasionally different to the UK Acts due to the sessions being different dates.

Some years don’t contain any Local and Private Acts, and I’m unsure if that means that none were passed, or if it’s because that copy is an edition only containing only the Public General Acts.

I’ll see if I can track down any more years, but I haven’t been able to find any so far.

      Great work!
I’d presume the Chronological Table of the Statutes Affecting Northern Ireland would list all the local acts, but cannot find a copy of any edition anywhere on the web.

Quite possibly, yes. I’m also unsure whether “Local and Private Acts” is a single series using lowercase Roman numerals, or if it refers to two series as with UK Acts. There don’t seem to be any that relate to individuals that would make it clearer.

The NI Journals of the House of Commons and Journals of the Senate would reveal everything, but I don’t know if they’re online anywhere either. I don’t think so.
